straight friends inspired by his marriage

Wow! I came to this sight looking for an update on the petition, and didn't expect to find this blog!

I have been with my partner for 6 years, and we married in July of 2004. Most of our friends are straight married people. One day, a couple told us that their marriage had been a "little shakey" lately, but after having witnessed our dedication to each other, and how much the marriage issue meant to us, it brought new life to their own marriage. They renewed their vows recently, and we stood up for them!

So tell me again, how do gay people threaten marriage? You can say all you want theoretically, but in real life... arguments against gay marriage just don't hold up alot for us any more. We are all part of one human family. Our differences pale in comparison to our similarities: The fundamental need to love and be loved. What else is there?

And for all who claim God as their justification: God is Love (to quote the Scripture). Bottom line. No doubts. When asked to sum up the law and the prophets, Jesus said: Love God with all your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself. No stipulations or exceptions.
